An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sustainable Transport Planner to work on progressing a wide range of interesting projects at the forefront of transport planning and behaviour change. We are seeking applications for a Sustainable Transport Planner. The position will be a permanent role within our Smarter Travel Team.

The Smarter Travel Team delivers a range of projects and programmes focused on behaviour change towards more sustainable and active modes of travel. Our work includes implementing key elements of the Hackney Transport Strategy to target how people travel in particular to schools, commuting, residents of Hackney and travel for new developments.

  • Smarter Travel on Estates - Development of schemes on estates in Hackney that encourage active and sustainable transport choices, engaging and working with other Council teams and estate stakeholders to deliver these schemes.
  • The London Walking and Cycling Conference - development of conference programme, event development. Engaging and working with event partners and sponsors.
