Highway and Transport Services – Enhancing Lives, Building Communities
Are you ready to shape the future of public transport in Wiltshire? We are looking for a National Bus Strategy Manager to lead the delivery of Wiltshire’s Bus Service Improvement Plan and Enhanced Partnership, key initiatives within the National Bus Strategy.
This is a fantastic opportunity to improve bus services, increase passenger numbers and make public transport more sustainable and accessible.

You’ll work closely with major bus operators, including First Bus, Go-Ahead Group, and Stagecoach, to understand their strategic objectives and collaborate on ways to increase bus use across the county. The role involves securing funding, managing major projects and developing strategies to enhance bus journey times, connectivity and infrastructure. You’ll also oversee reporting and compliance for government grants, ensuring Wiltshire achieves its ambitious targets for passenger growth.

We’re looking for someone with a degree in a transport-related subject, membership in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport or equivalent experience. You’ll have strong project management and negotiation skills, excellent knowledge of public transport regulations and experience in managing complex transport projects.

This role offers opportunities to attend national Department for Transport events and networking with industry leaders. It’s a chance to make a real difference, helping to deliver a modern, effective bus network while advancing your career.
