Oxfordshire County Council

Principal Transport Planner/Engineer
Ref: OCC2504262

An opportunity has arisen for a Principal Transport Planner/Engineer to work in the Transport Development Control team for the South and Vale locality.

You will have a key role in enabling and shaping growth across the Vale of White Horse and South Oxfordshire District Councils. You will use your transport and place-shaping skills and experience to work alongside developers to create innovative, high quality developments. Working closely with strategy colleagues, you will assess the transport impacts of major and strategic planning applications, and secure mitigation and contributions to transport infrastructure.

You will be an experienced, organised, creative and motivated professional with either a transport engineering or transport planning background.  With a good understanding of the development planning and place-making process, you will complement this with effective communication and negotiation skills.

This role would be predominately based within the Vale and South’s office at Milton Park (4 days per week), to strengthen our excellent working relationship across the authorities and 1 day at week at County Hall.

As an employer we recognise that our employees are central to everything we do. The council promotes a positive working environment where employees are able to work to their full potential and achieve a healthy work-life balance.
