About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Neighbourhoods and Networks team as a Project Manager. In this varied role you will be managing the delivery of transport planning projects that improve the built environment, including School Streets and Low Traffic Neighbourhoods.

You will carry out a broad range of tasks, such as conducting site visits and street audits, assessing possible route options, and developing proposals to improve walking and cycling infrastructure.

This role sits at the heart of the Neighborhoods and Networks team, reporting to a Programme Manager and line managing a Project Officer. You will work closely with colleagues, managing multidisciplinary infrastructure project teams including coworkers such as engineers, urban designers, landscape architects and community engagement specialists.

Candidates will be required to regularly attend our London hub near Bethnal Green and to travel across the capital as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you
You should have experience of project management, specifically with managing active travel infrastructure projects. This should include budget management and working to client deadlines.

You will have the ability to develop effective relationships and influence key stakeholders such as London Boroughs and Transport for London, as well as local walking and cycling groups. We will look for evidence of your experience in working with local communities, through stakeholder meetings and in-person engagement events.
