Senior Technician
Salary: £27,387
Location: County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester

Leicestershire County Council is seeking to recruit a Senior Technician to join our expanding Highways Development Management team who have a busy, varied and complex workload responding to over 2700 planning consultations per annum. In this role you will be tasked with coordinating the Highway Authority's response to the smallest development proposals coming forward in Leicestershire. You will be an excellent communicator and be able to work flexibly to accommodate often fast evolving circumstances. Essential Requirements
• HNC/HND/NVQ4 in relevant qualification e.g. Civil Engineering, Transportation or;
• Equivalent demonstrable work experience of highways development management or relevant other area of work;
• Experience of representing a Team in an Organisation;
• Experience of engaging with customers by producing materials and attending meetings;
• Effective negotiation with external organisations;
• Collaborative working with customers and key stakeholders;
• Interpreting and writing reports;
• Knowledge of current highways and transportation legislation;
• Excellent communication and presentation skills;
• Strong numerical and analytical skills;
• A customer focussed approach; and,
• Be able to work to tight timescales and to agreed targets.
