Join our new organisation as Assistant Transport Officer to help change the future of the transport network for a whole region.
Welcome to EMCCA
EMCCA is the UK’s first mayor-led combined county authority. The East Midlands is a great region. But it deserves to be better. Better connected, better funded and better prepared for a future of opportunity, growth, and hope. EMCCA will oversee devolved powers around transport, housing, skills and adult education, economic development, and net zero. We will conceive the strategies and create the connections that will empower local partners, people and businesses – maximizing the impact of billions of pounds of funding. Together, our new EMCCA team can put the East Midlands on the map as a place to live, work and study.
Your role in elevating the East Midlands
Improving transport is central to EMCCA’s goal of raising up the East Midlands region. As our new mayor has highlighted, there is no point creating more skills and employment opportunities if people cannot access them. Residents need to connect into the regional web to boost prosperity and prospects. You will have a valued supporting role in bringing our ambitions to life.
This role is an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience of transport strategy. You will focus on supporting the development of business cases for key transport initiatives and investments - taking care of the admin tasks required to progress cases smoothly and ensure their quality and accuracy.
You will also make a wider contribution to the work of the transport team. Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with the input of content into strategic economic appraisals and outline cases, following guidance from senior team members.
Helping to prepare and maintain documentation related to transportation projects, including reports, presentations, and meeting minutes.
Assisting in coordinating project activities, such as scheduling meetings, tracking progress, and ensuring that tasks are completed on time.
Assisting in organizing and managing transportation-related data, ensuring its accuracy and accessibility for analysis and decision-making purposes.
Using financial analysis skills to help create improvement plans for projects or teams you're involved with, providing evidence of your contributions.
Supporting efforts to educate the public about upcoming projects and schemes through outreach and communication activities.
