Head of Transport Investment
£59.057 - £65,296
Join our new organisation as Head of Transport Investment to make a transformational impact across a whole region.
Welcome to EMCCA
EMCCA is the UK’s first mayor-led combined county authority. The East Midlands is a great region. But it deserves to be better. Better connected, better funded and better prepared for a future of opportunity, growth, and hope. EMCCA will oversee devolved powers around transport, housing, skills and adult education, economic development, and net zero. We will conceive the strategies and create the connections that will empower local partners, people and businesses – maximizing the impact of billions of pounds of funding. Together, our new EMCCA team can put the East Midlands on the map as a place to live, work and study.
Your role in elevating the East Midlands
Maximizing the use of new funding for transport will be fundamental to achieving EMCCA’s goal of raising up the East Midlands. Our new mayor has highlighted the importance of linking communities to evolving skills and employment opportunities. Residents need to connect into the regional web to boost prosperity and prospects – you will have a major influence on transforming the transport landscape. We want you to provide strategic leadership and direction for our new Transport Investment function – leading and developing a small, dedicated team. You will focus on ensuring the effective and efficient allocation of transport funding and will also oversee the delivery of transport schemes across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
A key priority is to establish and maintain an assurance framework to ensure the efficient and value-driven delivery of transport schemes funded through our new authority. You will also support our decarbonization strategy and Net-Zero plan by identifying and pursuing new investment opportunities and co-ordinating investment efforts in local electric vehicle infrastructure. In addition, you will also play a valuable role in maintaining strong relationships with funding bodies and providing necessary assurance to stakeholders, including the government.
There will be close collaboration with our Director of Transport, Head of Transport Strategy and other EMCCA colleagues. Together, you will build the partnerships and collaborations that will drive impactful, sustainable change.
