About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Programme & Strategy team, as a Programme & Performance Analyst. Reporting to the Transport Contracts & Performance Manager, you’ll be leading on tracking project delivery and outcomes across the Transport & Parking division.
The division is responsible for delivering some of London’s most ambitious and exciting transport projects. This multi-million pound programme of schemes includes new cycle routes, public realm improvements, an extensive EV charging programme, school access management schemes, greener streets, ambitious car club expansion, rail projects and a range of parking schemes.
Working closely with colleagues service wide, you will ensure programme information is kept up to date, with regular reporting of progress at both the divisional and corporate level, contributing to successful delivery. You will be developing improved programme management processes and documentation, ensuring adherence to effective governance and quality assurance. Alongside this, you will also collate and analyse data, ensuring that it is presented effectively to a range of audiences. This will be used to support data-led decision making and performance monitoring.
This is a unique opportunity to gain further experience in both programme management and performance analysis, developing your collaborative working skills in the process.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
You’ll be working in the Programme & Strategy team, which sits within the Transport & Parking division. The team is responsible for delivering a number of the council’s strategic transport projects (including the EV, Parking and Kerbside Strategies), as well as helping to monitor contracts, delivery and performance across the division.
These transformational projects play an important part in delivering the Council’s Corporate Plan and transport objectives. We recognise the importance of achieving a good work-life balance, meaning there is flexibility on the number of days you are required in the office each week.
About You
If the points below resonate with you, we’d love you to put in an application:
1.You have experience in project planning, scheduling and monitoring. This will have been developed using Microsoft Project, supporting colleagues to plan programmes from inception to completion, and updating these plans as necessary to respond to change. You will also have the ability to develop tools that help to track project progress, changes to budget/timelines and outputs, and that flag any risks, enabling early intervention where required.
2.You have experience analysing and presenting complex data sets to inform performance reporting and decision making. Your proficiency in Excel, Power BI and Word means that you have the ability to present information clearly, concisely and persuasively to a wide range of audiences. You understand how this can help to inform improvements to processes, programme development and public perception of the work the Council does.
3.You have the ability to review processes and consider where improvements can be made. You can rapidly grasp new concepts and processes, consider how to reflect these accurately, and have the confidence to suggest where improvements may be needed.
4.You can build positive working relationships with colleagues, enabling them to recognise the importance of the work that you do. You have an open and approachable manner that allows you to engage positively and build strong relationships with colleagues, contractors, stakeholders and residents. You actively communicate and share information with others and are willing to listen and negotiate. This is critical to accessing the information you need to do your work and in turn contributing to improvements across the service.
5.You will have ideally gained experience of the above in a public sector setting. Transport or built environment experience is a distinct advantage.
