Assistant Project Manager - Surveying – Transportation

The Transportation business of Atkins is looking to recruit an Assistant Project Manager to be based in the rail survey team in our Croydon Office. The role will include managing experienced topographical survey delivery teams in the UK.

The role of Assistant Project Manager is to actively support these delivery teams and manage key (internal and external) client accounts to ensure Atkins remain amongst the first choice of customers.

Responsibilities 

• Assisting the Project Manager to deliver the surveying elements of major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, delivering on time and to budget.
• To ensure Safety is maintained and promoted along with promoting the highest standards of safety at site.
• To establish & build relationships with key suppliers, contractors & internal stakeholders.
• In conjunction with the Procurement Manager, inviting tenders, selecting and making recommendations on consultants and other external specialists necessary to facilitate the achievement of the project

Requirements

• Project management experience within projects including experience working within multi-disciplinary teams
• Well organised and confident, with enthusiasm for learning new skills and willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
• Able to establish and build relationships with suppliers, client/contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Good communication skills
• A topographical surveying background would be desirable but not essential
