Your role in elevating the East Midlands
Working closely with the Transport Funding Manager, you will be relied upon to maintain strong relationships with funding bodies, including the government, and provide the necessary assurance that funding is being appropriately allocated and deployed. The management of the investment assurance framework will also be your responsibility, ensuring EMCCA funded transport schemes are delivered efficiently and effectively and where possible support the team to leverage additional funding opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing advice and support towards the development of an ambitious and compelling transport investment programme for the region.
Assess scheme business case submissions to ensure alignment with strategic and funding body expectations and conditions.
Maintain and develop productive relationships with government, other funding bodies and local authority partners.
Assist in identifying future funding opportunities for the region, providing input and advice to enable EMCCA to influence DfT, HM Treasury and other key funding stakeholders in government.
Prepare and manage high quality, compelling bids that respond to future transport investment opportunities across the East Midlands region.
Provide key information and advice on the capital spending programme and assurance framework to the Transport Advisory Committee, Investment Committee and EMCCA Board in order for decisions to be made.
Your profile:
A degree or relevant qualification in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration.
Demonstrated competence in budget monitoring and planning.
Extensive experience of project and programme management principles.
Extensive experience in financial management.
Experience of developing and implementing funding assurance frameworks
Competence in coordinating and compiling infrastructure funding bids, demonstrated through previous experience.
In depth knowledge and understanding of major contract management arrangements relevant to infrastructure projects.
