The Traffic Management Group is a multidisciplinary team working on a wide range of capitally funded projects and reactive enquiries, across the areas of local traffic management, intelligent transport systems, casualty reduction and pedestrian accessibility.
Traffic and Transportation Technicians are key roles in the group, with their duties and responsibilities being determined by their appointed grade, with support and supervision being provided at grade E. Technicians at a higher grade are expected to work to their own initiative and be involved in more complex projects and enquiries.
All four roles will participate in all areas of the group’s activities but it is intended that one will have a focus on traffic signals and another on monitoring.
We welcome applications from candidates who have excellent communication skills, proven IT skills as well as the ability to work to deadlines and manage competing demands.
Additionally, it is important that you can demonstrate that they are able to work independently but as part of a team.
We welcome applications from candidates that have transferable skills, are self-motivated, can work within a team, and are willing to learn and develop their own skill set.
Appointment within the salary band will be subject to your relevant experience and qualifications. However as this is a career grade role, there is the opportunity to learn and progress as you develop your experience and professional abilities.
If you would like to have informal discussion about these roles, please contact Rachel Shardlow at [email protected]
Please be aware that where there are staff within the organisation who are 'at risk' of redundancy, requirements to redeploy to another suitable role will apply and take priority.
All new starters will automatically start at the bottom of the grade.
Closing date for receipt of applications is Tuesday 31 August 2021. Any applications received after this date will not be accepted.
Interviews are to be held week commencing 13 and 20 September 2021.
