Interim Chief Officer
Salary: c.£80,000 - £100,000 per annum dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time, Two year contract
Location: Tamar Crossings, southwest England

Tamar Crossings is a vital transportation link in the region, overseeing the operation and maintenance of the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry. We are committed to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable movement of people and goods across the Tamar River. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Chief Officer to lead Tamar Crossings for a two-year period. This is a unique opportunity to drive strategic initiatives forward, oversee daily operations, and ensure the continued success and improvement of our services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for Tamar Crossings.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry.
• Ensure the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our services.
• Manage and develop a high-performing team.
• Foster strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including Councillors, MPs, local authorities, government agencies, and the community, representing the crossings at regional and national forums, whilst engaging, at times, in resolving issues requiring immediate and urgent attention.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.
• Develop and manage budgets, financial plans, and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
About You:
• Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in transportation or infrastructure.
• Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in managing large teams and complex operations.
• Financial acumen and experience in budget management.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety, sustainability, and excellence in service delivery.
