SEStran (South East Scotland Transport Partnership) is one of 7 Regional Transport Partnerships in Scotland, established in 2005 with a remit to develop and implement a Regional Transport Strategy.
Educated to degree level, or equivalent in an appropriate subject and preferably a member of a relevant professional body, you will work within the Strategy team and take a leading role in the development and monitoring of the Regional Transport Strategy.
Your duties will include participating in working groups and forums, preparing input to national transport strategy and strategic projects, responding to formal consultations, taking an active role in Community Planning Partnerships, negotiating with local authorities, transport operators, both national and local, on projects and strategies relevant to SEStran. You will also take the lead in promoting and organising various liaison groups and work with SESplan and TAYplan in providing strategic transport planning input to Strategic Development Plans.
You will need to have experience of working within strategic transportation, most likely in the public sector and be a strategic thinker with the ability to act independently and possess the full range of negotiating, influencing, organisational and leadership skills.
