Solent Transport is looking for an experienced Principal Transport Planner to join an ambitious and forward-looking team, focused on developing transport improvements that will deliver our vision for the future of transport across the Solent region. This is an exciting time to join Solent Transport, as it delivers innovative schemes within the Solent Future Transport Zone and looks to finalise its sub-regional transport strategy and, working with partners, continues to develop ambitions for metro-style improvements to the rail network in Solent. A high level of numeracy and good knowledge of transport modelling will be essential.
This role will be responsible for delivering and contributing on policy and strategy development; reporting to committees, panels and working groups; providing specialist advice to senior managers and politicians to assist with problem solving and providing recommendations for solutions. This role will work across a variety of subject matters including transport strategy, strategic modelling, and public transport ticketing. The successful candidate will provide thought leadership on technical elements and will act as both a project manager and client manager for the range of tasks that fall within Solent Transport’s remit.
The role sits within an innovative and supportive and professional Solent Transport team, reporting to the Solent Transport Manager.
