About the Role
The Transport Strategy service is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join an ambitious and innovative team. The team has a central role in delivering innovative transport projects that support the Carbon Neutral 2028 Plan and other economic and environmental strategies.
The post offers the opportunity to work in all aspects of future transport related strategies and schemes ranging from policy development, bidding for funding, commissioning projects, scheme delivery, communications and monitoring and evaluation activities.
The post holder will lead the delivery of transport projects to support new technology adoption and mobility solutions across Nottingham and the wider East Midlands Combined County Authority area It will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) programme, including citywide rollout. It will require working with other areas of the Council, public sector partners, residents and businesses. The post will also advise on relevant transport strategies, prepare funding bids, procurement and support other schemes requiring electric infrastructure such as the mobility hubs and electric car club.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
A degree or equivalent in Transport Planning or related discipline, qualified to be eligible for membership of a relevant professional organisation, e.g. IHT, CILT or relevant employment experience in transport, planning or related discipline.
Experience of procuring, managing or delivering charge point schemes.
Knowledge and experience in managing, including commissioning, of complex projects and programmes demonstrating a proactive and problem-solving approach.
Knowledge of performance management principles and the operation of service level agreements and other protocols.
Ability to guide, support, motivate and manage junior staff.
Ability to communicate and present complex information and ideas effectively, orally and in writing, and to adapt communications to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear, effective and concise manner.
