An exciting opportunity has come up for a Transport Coordinator to join our dynamic and friendly team in the Transport Coordination Service.

The Transport Coordination Service (TCS) designs and manages Cornwall Council’s transport arrangements. It markets the whole public transport network, manages the concessionary fares scheme for 100,000 Cornish residents; determines eligibility and organises the daily travel for approximately 14,000 school pupils and college students, and arranges transport for 2,000 pupils, students and adults with special needs. There are over 15 million passenger journeys made annually. The TCS manages budgets of over £32m p.a.

As a Transport Coordinator you will be working front-line supporting the team responsible for school and social care transport arrangements. This wide-ranging and varied role will include supporting the management of transport arrangements as well as dealing direct with parents, schools, transport providers and colleagues within the Council. You will also assist with managing associated budgets.

Do you have good oral and written communication skills? Do you have, or are willingly to train for, an understanding of school transport operations and experience of contract management? Do you understand financial management? If yes, they we would love to hear from you!

Whilst the location/work-base for this role has been specified, the current Government guidance around social distancing and our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g. from home/other locations).
