We are looking for an innovative, highly motivated, proactive and organised individual to take on the role of Future Transport Zone Sustainable Urban Logistics Project Manager to be part of our team delivering an ambitious, multi-million-pound programme of activity.
Solent Transport is delivering the Solent region’s Future Transport Zone; a blend of innovative transport and infrastructure trials designed to transform the way people and cargo move around the Solent region. As one of only four regions in the UK to be awarded FTZ Programme funding by the Department for Transport, our £28.8M allocation means we are the best funded Future Transport Zone in the country and are set to deliver several world firsts in the realm of public mobility and sustainable logistics. The projects within the programme are grouped into two key themes, focused around Theme 1 – Personal Mobility (Bike Share, Dynamic Demand Responsive Transit trials, Mobility Credits trial, E-Scooter, Mobility as a Service/Grow SolentGo) and Theme 2 – Sustainable Urban Logistics (Micro Consolidation, Macro Consolidation and Drone Logistics projects). To support the delivery of these project an integrated marketing and communications strategy has been developed and will be implemented in parallel with each theme. All projects are required to be delivered by June 2025.

About this role:
We are looking for a highly proactive and organised individual with an appreciation of the delivery and servicing work area to take on the role of Sustainable Urban Logistics Project Manager. You will plan and manage the delivery of a number of projects within the FTZ Theme 2 programme (Sustainable Urban Logistics), delivering within agreed parameters to achieve successful outcomes and to ensure projects are executed effectively and in partnership and coordination with other relevant local authority projects. Urban logistics is at the core of future sustainable mobility and this is an opportunity to join a high performing, dynamic team at a senior level working on the ground-breaking FTZ programme that will influence future national transport policy.
You will be a qualified project professional (ideally APM, PRINCE2 or other relevant professional qualification) and/or have significant experience of successfully delivering projects throughout the project lifecycle. You will be experienced in defining scope, products and deliverables, including appropriate resourcing, and ensuring these are delivered to agreed time, cost, quality and compliance objectives. You will also be adept at managing teams.
It is essential for you to be flexible, be able to work under pressure and collaboratively with partners and suppliers. You will work alongside an experienced team, who continue to deliver a number of high profile projects in the Solent region.
